THE EXTREME SOUTH: PAMPAS, MARSHES AND CAMPOS SULINOS

 

Southern Brazil offers some of the most enjoyable birding in the country. A diverse array of mostly open habitats are found in the southernmost states of Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul. Not to be missed is the belle of the Brazilian South, the fabulous Lagoa do Peixe National Park. 

 

Although it is overlooked by most of the big tour companies, South Brazil really deserves your attention, especially if you enjoy easy birding, great food, and warm hospitality.
